Registration is closed

Date/ Time: July 11, 2022/ 9:00- 4:30 EST

Cost: $75

Presenters:
Regina Reynolds, Director, U.S ISSN Center, Library of Congress; Adriana Marroquin, Karen Ross, Continuing Resources Librarians, U.S. ISSN Center, Library of Congress

Brief description: The workshop will be in two parts. Part I will consist of an overview of continuing resources topics including official RDA concepts and terminology related to serials and other continuing resources; ISSN myths and facts; predatory publishing of journals; and the expanded scope of resources eligible for ISSNs. Part II will consist of a workshop on cataloging online continuing resources according to CONSER provider neutral guidelines. The cataloging workshop will mainly cover serials but also include integrating resources.

Statement on prior knowledge: The Part II workshop assumes a basic understanding of RDA and continuing resources cataloging, plus some experience with print serials cataloging. Cataloging print continuing resources and electronic continuing resources are fundamentally similar, so the workshop is intended to augment pre-existing knowledge. It does not address basic continuing resources cataloging.

Questions attendees should answer with enrollment: Please provide topics about either ISSN or cataloging continuing electronic resources that you would like the presenters to address.
