The workshop will focus on constructing access points for records under RDA, utilizing the LC/PCC Policy Statements (LCC/PCC PS). There will be a brief review of the PCC core descriptive metadata elements. Access points for personal names, corporate bodies, conferences, and works and expressions (titles) will be covered. Subject headings will not be covered.
Shana L. McDanold is Head, Metadata Services Unit at Georgetown University. Prior to joining Georgetown, she was the Head of the Electronic Resources & Serials Cataloging Unit at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries. Her current position involves all things metadata related in any and all formats.
Shana received her MLS degree from Indiana University, Bloomington (IUB). In addition to being a certified trainer for the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) for both monographic materials and serials, she has worked on several American Library Association committees for the Association of Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) Division and the ALCTS Continuing Resources Section. She currently serves as Chair of the Library of Congress PCC Standing Committee on Automation, as a member of the NISO Education Committee, as a member of the Editorial Board for the peer-reviewed journal Serials Review, published by Taylor & Francis, and is Secretary on the Executive Board of NASIG (North American Serials Interest Group).

The Joseph Mark Lauinger Memorial Library serves as the main library for Georgetown University. It is located on the southeast corner of the main Georgetown Campus. The entrance to the main campus is at 37th and O Streets, NW in Washington, DC. The Dubin Memorial Classroom can be found on the First Floor. Information for visitors is available at
