Executive Committee

Chair-Elect, Rebecca Case

Rebecca Case is the Cataloging and Metadata Manager at the Arlington Public Library. She has previously worked for the Fairfax County Public Library and The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association of the Union.  Rebecca holds a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College and received her MSLIS from Simmons College. Her interest in libraries is focused on using the catalog experience to connect with patrons and staff and maintaining strong, but nimble cataloging workflows.

Secretary, Leigh Ann Martin

Leigh Ann Martin is the Metadata Librarian at the University of Richmond’s Boatwright Memorial Library in Richmond, Virginia. Previous to my current position, I worked in public, academic, and corporate libraries in a variety of roles, including circulation, administration, and reference, but landed in technical services (specifically cataloging) in 2010 and decided to make a career of it. I have been a PTPL member since 2016, and have always appreciated the focused nature of the organization and how the presentations at its meetings and workshops are always applicable to my work. As a former recipient of the PTPL annual scholarship (2017), I would be honored to have the opportunity to give back to the organization that helped to make the possible my career leap from a library paraprofessional to a faculty librarian.

Advisory Board

Maryland Representative, Aimee Plaisance

Aimee Plaisance is the Catalog Librarian for the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She previously worked as a special collections cataloger at the James Smith Noel Collection in Shreveport, LA, and she earned her MLIS at the University of Washington. Aimee has served as the PTPL Advisory Board Secretary for the last two years and is excited for the opportunity to continue working with this group to foster connections and opportunities for technical services librarians in the area.

Virginia Representative, Amber Jones

I am the Senior Cataloging/Digital Librarian for the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Prior to my current position, I worked in several Technical Services positions as well as the VMHC Reference Library where I began my career as a Library Clerk. My past and present duties have included cataloging a variety of published materials in all formats, selectively digitizing and then providing metadata for objects entered into our DAMS and/or OPAC, maintaining consistent and up-to-date metadata standards, providing reference services, and assisting with preservation and conservation of our collections. I enjoy PTPL because this group works hard to provide a variety of quality and timely programs to our region, and I appreciate the opportunities I have had to network with other technical services professionals in my area. I am interested in serving as a Virginia representative on the Advisory Board so that I can assist with providing further professional development opportunities to our group. I received my B.A. in English from Virginia Commonwealth University and my MLIS from the University of Alabama.
